Angela Johnson, who has lived in Southeast Houston her whole life, is the Founder and Senior Wealth Advisor of Worthen Financial Advisors, Inc, a full service, woman-owned financial advising and wealth management firm located in Friendswood, TX. Angela’s education and career have spanned many fields, which is why she is able to provide her clients with a multidisciplinary approach to help them pursue their goals and live life to the fullest without the worry of money.
Angela is best known for her warm, genuine personality that makes financial conversations easy and stress-free. At Worthen Financial Advisors, you won’t find a cold, judgmental interviewer in a suit. We believe friendly, casual conversations are the best way to truly understand how we can help you achieve your unique goals.
Angela’s passion is helping clients and their families take the right steps to optimize their financial future. This is why she focuses on assisting clients in all areas, including investment management, insurance planning, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. Angela also specializes in providing investment, wealth management and tax planning advice to high net-worth individuals and families who have unique and complex needs.
Regularly meets with clients and maintains close client relationships to help them discover and pursue their financial goals.
Maintains commitment to serve high net worth clients on comprehensive wealth management, including financial planning, retirement planning, Social Security planning, tax efficient distribution analysis, cash flow, and liability analysis.
Oversees portfolio design to help meet client’s financial objectives and provide tax efficiency as well as minimize lifetime tax liability.
Oversees Estate Planning and Trust coordination to ensure that the estate plan meets client’s specific goals.
Coordinates with client’s other professionals (such as attorneys and accountants).
Additionally, to be the resource that Angela wishes she had in her 20’s and 30’s, Worthen Financial Advisors does not have account minimums. We are dedicated to helping our young clients start off on the right foot and keep momentum going through our financial planning paid monthly subscription program. Our Smart Money Advantage program is managed by Anthony Hernandez, CFP®.
Angela graduated from the University of Houston – Clear Lake with a B.A. in Literature. After graduation, Angela began her professional career at AT&T. As an Associate Director with a reputation for providing excellent customer service, Angela led a large call center team that supported AT&T field technicians in the 13-state region. After 9 years in the corporate world, Angela opened a scratch Farmers Insurance agency.
For 16 years, the Angela Johnson Insurance Agency consistently ranked in the top 5% of agencies and earned multiple awards and honors, including 12 Topper Club, 8 Championship, 5 Presidents Council and numerous state and district awards. Additionally, she earned membership to MDRT, a global independent association of the world’s leading life and financial services professionals, for her work in financial services.
While an insurance agent, Angela co-authored a book for insurance agents, “Going Tradigital: Social Media Made Easy for Insurance Agents”. She was a frequent speaker at industry events across the US, as well as Turkey and France.
Angela held her Series 6 and 63 securities registrations as a Farmers agent and quickly discovered her passion for investment management and financial planning. Angela has advised clients on all aspects of financial planning since 2005, becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 2019.
In 2021, Angela left Farmers Insurance to open Worthen Financial Advisors as an Independent RIA and fiduciary.
Angela lives in Friendswood, TX with her husband and two Weimaraner’s, Liesl and Gretl. She has 1 daughter and 1 granddaughter, and enjoys time with her family and friends, exercising, travel and reading. She is a member of Friendswood Methodist Church.
